AILA Practice Alert: Erroneously Rejected Forms I-485 with Edition Date of 7/15/22

The American Immigration Lawyers Association has received preliminary reports of USCIS rejecting Forms I-485 with an edition date of 7/15/22 that were postmarked before the effective date of the current 12/23/22 version of that form and received by USCIS after the effective date of the new version. The stated ground for rejection is that the applicant used the incorrect version of the form.

If you have experienced a rejection of a Form I-485 solely on this basis, please send your example to our office or directly to reports@aila.org with the subject line, “FORM I-485 EDITION DATE Rejection,” so that AILA can promptly raise this issue to USCIS.
